Finding a legitimate Brooklyn locksmith can be harder than you believe. Then again, any person who's needed one knows that the industry is saturated by clowns and imposters. Over the last few years, scam artists have shown that they can set up many fake listings online with phone numbers that get forwarded to a phone bank. These calls are then sold to local locksmiths for a good profit. It seems New York, particularly Brooklyn, has been a very profitable place to conduct such an operation.
