Mexico's Belisario Dominguez Medal of Honor
The Order of the Belisario Dominguez Medal of Honor is the highest award given to a Mexican citizen by their government. It is named after a Senator for Chiapas during the Mexican Revolution. During the conflict, rebel Victoriano Huerta ousted then President Francisco I. Madero through a bloody coup d'etat. When Belisario Dominguez learned of the coup he immediately distributed a letter to members of congress encouraging the exile of Huerta. In the end, Dominguez paid for his outspoken ways
